- Mr.Kannan is an eminent banker possessing 38 years of rich and vast experience spanning different facets of banking.He joined Bank of Maharashtra in 1976 and successfully graduated to become it’s General Manager,heading the departments of

- Credit Monitoring and rehabilitation
- Regional Head of Mumbai Metro Region,Andhra Pradesh,Karnataka and Kerala

- International Trade Finance and Dealing Room operations
- Corporate Lending
- Infrastructure and project finance
- Risk Management
- In Dec,2010 Mr.Kannan was elevated to the position of the Executive Director of Oriental Bank of Commerce,which he held till Dec,2013.Thereafter,in Jan,2014 he became the Chairman and Managing Director of Vijaya Bank before his superannuation in Dec,2014.
